Police are investigating the deaths of two people in County Durham
A man and woman who were found shot dead in a car at a golf club are believed to be related, police said.
The bodies were discovered in the car at Crook Golf Club, in County Durham, at 11.35am on Saturday.
Durham Police said post-mortem examinations confirmed that the pair had been shot.
A force spokeswoman said: "The people who died are believed to be a man in his 30s and a woman in her 50s from the Crook area. They are believed to be related.
"However, due to the nature of their injuries, it will be some time before their identities can be officially confirmed.
"The investigation into how the two people died continues.
"Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths."
Officers were called to the scene on Low Job's Hill, Crook, on Saturday "acting on information received".
The man and woman were thought to have sustained "serious gunshot wounds to the head".
The spokeswoman said: "Post-mortem examinations carried out today have confirmed that death was due to gunshot wounds."
