Charmouth: Drop-in session due on flooding response
11:30am Wednesday 5th September 2012 in Lyme Regis
A drop-in session is being held in Charmouth tomorrow for people who were affected by July’s floods.
Dorset County Council and the Environment Agency have arranged the session following the ones held in west Dorset last month.
The event is to be held between 1.30pm and 6.30pm in the Club Room at Charmouth Community Hall in Lower Sea Lane.
The events are an opportunity for residents and local businesses that have either been affected by the flooding or have ongoing concerns, to share their views and experiences with officers from the relevant organisation.
It will also give the county council and Environment Agency the opportunity to gather information about the floods on the weekend of July 7.
People who attend the open sessions are invited to bring along any photographs, video clips or notes from the event.
It gives residents not only from the surgery locations but also from the surrounding areas the opportunity to talk to officers about what happened and the situation where they live.
The information will also help build a picture of events and what could possibly be done to be better prepared in future.
Any residents who are unable to come to any of the events can contact Dorset County Council by emailing floodriskmanagement@dorsetcc.gov.uk or calling 01305 221000.
