Lyme Regis: Golfers raise thousands

The Candles on the Cobb Charity Golf Day has raised £2,400 for charity and organisers have thanked supporters for their help.

The Golf Day at Lyme Regis Golf Club had to be rearranged after the original date in April was rained off.

“Special thanks need to go to Lyme Regis Golf Club for allowing us the full use of the club facilities,” said committee member Su Wilkins.

“All the staff worked very hard to provide both an excellent service and a golf course that was in great condition for the competition. “Special thanks also need to go to Rob and Deb Hamon and their staff at the Nags Head Pub, who held an evening barbecue with live music, which received high praise.

“We also need to thank all our sponsors for their continued support and a special thanks to Ray Farrell, his daughter Lisa and granddaughter Jessica for organising all the administration for the golfers. “Without them the event would not have happened.”

Proceeds from Candles on the Cobb 2012 events will be shared 50/50 between Lyme Regis Youth Organisations and Help for Heroes.
