Lyme Regis: Traders unable to help extend park and ride service runs

LYME Traders will not be able to help extend the hours the town’s park and ride service runs.

It had been hoped Cobb traders could help finance the extra journeys but traders’ chairman Tony Colston said it was not possible.

He told Monday’s meeting of the council tourism and advertising sub committee that it was unlikely to happen this year.

He said: “The guys that operate it have a lack of equipment and a lack of personnel to be able to run later in the evening.

“It is unlikely to happen this year with the economic climate.”

Coun Chris Clipson said the problem was in West Dorset District Council’s Holmbush car park.

He said: “Because it is so cheap you are not going to get anybody to use the park and ride.”
