Lyme Regis: Treasury response to Bill Simpson's shares fight

Bill Simpson Bill Simpson

FOLLOWING the Lyme Regis’ News story of 96-year-old Bill Simpson’s problems getting his shares from an investment company the treasury contacted the paper.

A spokesman for the government department said: “Lord Sassoon and the treasury takes seriously any example of banks placing unreasonable demands on low-risk customers.

“You mentioned that Mr Simpson was having problems with another bank. If these issues have not been resolved, do encourage Mr Simpson or his family to write to Lord Sassoon at the Treasury, I am sure that he will get a prompt response.”
