POLICE are warning drivers to take care in foggy conditions after a crash on the A35 this morning.

Two cars collided between Charmouth and Axminster, but no-one was injured.

A spokesman from Dorset Police, said: “Police were called at 8.55am to a two-vehicle road traffic collision two miles west of Charmouth on the A35.

“The vehicles involved were a silver Audi Quattro, registered to a Charmouth man and a blue Citroen Saxo, registered to a Bridport woman.

“There were no reports of any injuries and the road was clear by 9.23am.”

Officers are urging motorists to use the correct headlights in foggy conditions.

PC Richard Winward of Lyme Regis Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The main thing is that it was very foggy.

“Whilst dealing with the crash, loads of people drove past with no lights or just side lights on. People have to use headlights in the fog – that’s the law and common sense.”
