A MAN has been arrested after drugs were seized by police.
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the former Axe Vale Social Club, Axminster after reports of a strong smell of cannabis in the area.
A police spokesman said: “Officers attended the address at around 7.30am on Thursday, July 7, and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of production of class B cannabis.
“The man remains in police custody while investigations are ongoing.”
The spokesman added that because of the “extensive amount of equipment and plants found” at the property, which is spread over three floors, a specialist team of officers attended the property on Friday in order to seize the material.
Chard Street was closed at 12pm today by officers.
