AFTER a 46-year wait - youngsters are finally able to enjoy a new skatepark in Lyme Regis.

The Lyme Regis Skatepark was officially opened by the mayor of Lyme Regis, Cllr Owen Lovell on Saturday as skaters and BMXers were able to enjoy the new ramps for the first time.

Cheryl Reynolds, secretary and events organiser of the Skatepark Fundraising Organisation, said: “All those who have supported the skatepark project over the years are thrilled to see this day has finally come.

“So much effort has gone into bringing this project to fruition and we now have a facility the town can be proud of.

“This means so much to the youth of Lyme Regis and I know it will be very well used and looked after."
