BETWEEN 90 to 100 tonnes of material is believed to have come down in a landslip in west Dorset.

Reports of a landslip emerged this morning just after 11am.

The incident took place in Mutton Lane, Marshwood.

The road was temporarily closed near Taphouse Lane whilst work took place to clear the road.

A spokesman for Dorset County Council said: "Dorset County Council Highways think 90 to 100 tonnes of material came down in the landslip in Marshwood.

"They decided to close the road temporarily near Taphouse Lane in case of more coming down."

The road was cleared at around 2pm.
