VISITORS to the west Dorset coastline are being warned not to put themselves at risk in stormy conditions.
Photographer Simon Emmett snapped this picture of two people trying to get close to a giant wave at The Cobb in Lyme Regis.
Mr Emmett said: "It's never worth risking your life just to get a photo."
Sam Scriven, earth science advisor at the Jurassic Coast Team, has warned people enjoying the coast to 'respect the dangers' as a big wave could 'wash you off your feet' in the blink of an eye.
He said: "Rough weather and big waves can be exciting.
"It is nice to go out and enjoy the coast at all time of the year - but like all fantastic natural environments, we need to show a respect for the dangers that come with it.
"We'd always recommend people don't put themselves at risk, whether that is from rock falls or landslides or a stormy sea.
"A wave can wash you off your feet in a second."
In July, people were warned that ‘disaster can strike at any time’ after a woman and her dog were pictured climbing on the remains of an old rockfall on the Jurassic Coast.
