A LITTLE girl was rushed to hospital with a head injury after falling more than five feet from railings in Lyme Regis.

Emergency services and the air ambulance were called to Marine Parade on Saturday afternoon, where it is believed the girl fell onto the Cart Road, close to the beach huts.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a child who had fallen from some railings on Marine Parade on Saturday at 2.38pm.

It looks like the child was taken to Dorset County Hospital.

“Police set up a cordon and officers were happy that there were no suspicious circumstances in relation to the incident.”

South West Ambulance Service confirmed the girl suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital.

A spokesperson said: ”We were called at 2.30pm on Saturday to reports a little girl had fallen and suffered a head injury.

“The air ambulance was requested, as was a paramedic, a land ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.

“We cannot confirm how seriously injured she was. The girl was taken to Dorset County Hospital by land ambulance.”
