RESIDENTS of Lyme Regis have told councillors what they would like the authority to do to improve their town.

Lyme Regis Town Council held a 'Time to Talk' session on Friday, attracting around 100 people. Town councillors explained their draft objectives and also listened to suggestions about what the authority should do over the next four years.

Mayor of Lyme Regis, Cllr Owen Lovell, said: ''I was very pleased to see so many people attend this event.

"I would like to thank everyone for their contribution."

The most popular objectives included the development of a strategy to tackle seagulls in the town, along with the improvement of traffic management and the installation of showers and changing facilities on the beach.

Other ideas from members of the public included better provision of public toilets and the need for more litter bins in the town.

The town council will consider a draft of objectives at next week's strategy and policy committee meeting - and it is hoped the authority's objectives for the next four years will be signed off in November.
