TWO people were injured in a head-on crash near Lyme Regis.

Two vehicles collided this morning on the A3052 between Lyme Regis and Rousden, resulting in one person taken to hospital with chest and hand injuries.

The road was closed at the Trinity Hill Road junction, but has now reopened.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "We were called to the scene at 10.40am following reports of a head-on collision between two vehicles.

"The collision involved a Vauxhall camper van and a Ford Focus estate."

South West Ambulance Service were called to the incident and treated two injured women.

"We received a call at 10.31am to a two-vehicle road traffic collision," said a spokesman.

"We treated two female casualties. One was fully mobile and treated at the scene. The second casuallty was suffering from chest and hand injuries and was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by ambulance."
