TALENTED performers took to the stage in Lyme Regis at the annual Big Mix Festival.

More than 2,500 revellers had fun in the sun as families enjoyed a day of music, including a host of local bands and artists - brought together by the town's youth music charity, B Sharp.

Mobile skate ramps brought scooters, skaters and bikers to the event, while the Love Shack area offered hooping, face painting, nail arts and hair braiding.

B Sharp director Fran Williams, said: "The Big Mix is produced and run by young people with professional mentors.

"It prides itself on promoting mostly original music and has become a flagship event for young people to develop ideas and experience in music production and event organisation.

"I must also thank the massive voluntary effort and the B Sharp team who worked like a well-oiled machine to make it happen."

Brighton-based trio The RPMs, whose singer Jack Valero is from Bridport, were pleased to return to the event. Headline act KOG and the Zongo Brigade also went down well with the audience, along with opera singer Chloe Stratta, who grew up in Lyme Regis and singer songwriter Ella Squirrell (corr), who was formerly a member of B Sharp.

Despite the fantastic contribution of volunteers, one of the group's grant applications failed - meaning fundraising is underway to make up the shortfall.
