LYME REGIS: An award-winning production will come to the Marine Theatre stage this weekend.

Grounded, winner of the Fringe First Award in 2013 and the OffWestEnd Award for best production will stop off at Lyme Regis on Saturday February 7.

The one-woman show tells the story of a hot-rod F16 fighter pilot turned drone operative whose career in the sky is over.

Now she sits in an air-conditioned trailer in Las Vegas, flying remote-controlled drones over the Middle East.

She struggles through surreal 12-hour shifts far from the battlefield, hunting terrorists by day and being a wife and mother by night.

The lead role will be portrayed by actress Lucy Ellinson, whose extensive career in theatre, television and film has resulted in great critical acclaim and numerous award nominations.

Her notably outstanding performances in Grounded, Mad Man and Trojan Women have seen her reputation grow.

Previously running in front of packed-out audiences in London and Edinburgh, Grounded flies from the heights of lyricism to the shallows of workaday existence, and targets our assumptions about war, family and what it is to be a woman.
