Warning of service timetable changing in the Bridport and Lyme Regis area

PASSENGERS are being warned about changes to bus services in the Bridport and Lyme Regis area.

Alan Williams of the Western Area Transport Action Group (WATAG) said people will need to pick up a new timetable as some times have changed.

He said new times for the X53 and 31 services will take effect from November 4.

“They will need to get a new version of the timetable from the tourist information centre as there have been some changes. Some of the buses are running earlier.”

He warned that the X53 will be leaving Weymouth 11 minutes earlier first thing in the morning – at 7.20am – which means it will be four minutes earlier at such stops as Burton Bradstock, Swyre and West Bay.

The 31 service will be leaving Lyme Regis at 6.26am instead of 6.39am.

The X53 service will continue to run on Sundays until Christmas after an outcry over proposals to stop it.

Mr Williams expect Dorset County Council’s cabinet to decide on November 7 whether to provide funding for it to run on Sundays after Christmas.
