BRIDPORT and Lyme Regis News reporter Adrianne Maslen will be taking the plunge on New Year’s Day to support terminally-ill cancer patients in Dorset.
Adrianne will be seeing in 2010 by taking part in the Lyme Lunge off the town’s sandy beach on New Year’s Day.
The second Lyme Lunge organised by Lyme Regis Rotary will start at 1.15pm and Adrianne will also be taking part for a second year with partner Anthony Mullins, both from the town.
Fancy dress is optional and participants are asked to be there by 1pm to allow time for town mayor Michaela Ellis to judge the costumes, with a £25 prize for the winner.
Adrianne will be taking part to raise funds for the Show Them You Care Campaign, a cause run by our sister paper the Dorset Echo to raise money for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
To sponsor our reporter visit www.justgiving. com/weldmarnurse and state you are donating for Adrianne or the Lyme Lunge, or contact the News office on 01308 455902.
The proceeds of this year’s event raised by the rest of the swimmers will go to two Rotary charities, Shelterbox and Water Survival. Sponsor forms can be downloaded from whatsoninlyme.co.uk/ lymelunge.pdf
