Visitors to a restaurant were treated to a guest appearance from a popular TV actor.

To coincide with their first AA Rosette, The Club House in West Bexington hosted an evening with John Challis of Only Fools and Horses fame as 'Boycie' and more recently as 'Monty' in Benidorm.

The Club House, which received the award eight months after opening, hosted the star at a sold-out event.

Mr Challis provided entertainment to those in attendance, and couldn't help getting into character whilst meeting and greeting guest and signing copies of his autobiography.

Mr Challis even sign the three wheeler 'Trotter Mobile' which was loaned for the evening from Southampton.

Diners who attended were treated to a seafood specialised menu, containing Lobster Benidorm, a twist on the favourite Lobster Thermidor.

General manager, Harry Murley, said: "It was a real pleasure to host 'Boycie', he was great fun and very down to earth.

"He was very engaging with our guests and we had lots of positive feedback.

"All in all it was a fantastic evening and we are really looking forward to our next event."

The Hive Beach Company Ltd runs three properties in West Dorset.

The Watch House Café on West Bay and Hive Beach Café at Burton Bradstock are all owned by the company.

The Club House is a 1930s inspired eatery, featuring an upmarket theme,showcasing sustainable seafood and local produce.

The name, ‘The Club House’, is the originally from 1932 when it first opened.

The next event at the Club House is on Thursday, May 24, with a five course food and wine pairing evening featuring five expressions of Sauvignon.
