THE Christmas Day Swim at Charmouth had to be called off due to the weather - but it didn't stop people taking a dip anyway.
Crowds of people still decided to take the plunge in fancy dress to raise funds for charity in an unofficial swim event.
Lyme Regis RNLI, the main beneficiary of the event, had said due to forecast strong winds and large waves the event unfortunately had to be been called off.
The weather conditions coincided with high tide on Christmas Day morning.
Brave souls still took part in a brief swim despite the big waves.
