SHAME on you WDDC planning committee members who voted with the word ‘reluctantly’ to approve Hallams outline planning submission. Having witnessed this vote at the special council meeting on Friday, I can only say that if they had stood by what they obviously thought was a flawed application outline planning would have been rejected.
But constant reminders from head of planning that there were no grounds for rejecting this application, and they would be held accountable if they did, led to the majority saying reluctantly yes to the vote.
So much for democracy and listening to the people of Bridport, Bridport Council, and Symondsbury Parish Council. So who knows what is best for Bridport? According to WDDC it is the so called ‘expert’ consultees who admit that Hallams submission is flawed but in their opinion can be sorted out at a later date, or can it? All I can say is WDDC make extremely sure you have conducted everything by the book as you will be challenged.
