IT'S not quite Hallowe'en yet - but this sinister looking image of a man in a mask has emerged as police investigate a burglary where thousands of pounds worth of goods were stolen.

CCTV images of a suspect have been released by police probing a break-in at an industrial site near Dorchester where a haul of high value goods was stolen from an emporium selling antiques, vintage items and collectables.

Police also want to know if local people have been offered any of the goods for sale.

It was reported at around 7.50am on Sunday, October 15 that a break-in had occurred overnight at The Wardon Hill Trading Post on the Clay Pigeon site on the A37, with several items of high value jewellery, figurines and vintage items stolen.

The trading post is an emporium where around 50 traders sell goods at one site.

Officers have obtained CCTV footage from the site, which shows a man in a distinctive stripy top inside the premises.

PC Mark Edgar, of Dorset Police, said: “Our investigation is continuing and I am releasing the CCTV footage of the man in the hope that someone may have information as to his identity.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered items of jewellery, watches, crystals or Lladro or Royal Doulton figurines for sale in unusual circumstances.”
