THE Bridport Hat Festival may be over for another year but the money keeps rolling in.
The event raises funds for various charities, with Brain Tumour Research and BIRT, the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, being its two main beneficiaries.
The Bridport branch of Waitrose has this week donated £230 to Bridport Hat Festival charities thanks to its ‘Community Matters’ scheme.
HatFest was one of three local causes chosen for the town centre supermarket’s August ‘green token’ collection box.
Waitrose’s Community Matters Champion, Tara Dobel, presented the cheque to HatFest committee member and Bridport Town Councillor Terry Harrison.
A spokesman for the Hat Festival committee said: “We would like to thank all at Waitrose and its customers, for making this possible.”
