POLICE are appealing for witnesses after cash was stolen from a hair salon in Lyme Regis.

Thieves broke into Making Waves along Silver Street overnight on Wednesday night – stealing cash and items.

The business has asked for anyone who saw anything suspicious between 5.30pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday to contact police. Members of the public are also being urged to keep a lookout for Cloud Nine hair straighteners and curlers.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 6.51am on Thursday to reports of a break-in at Making Waves in Silver Street, Lyme Regis.

“The front door had been smashed and a quantity of cash was stolen. An investigation is underway.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 12:51.”
