FROM bullied child to community campaigner and martial arts instructor Aiden Cooper has turned his life around.

Now, apart from spreading the message to other bullying victims that there is help for them, he's busy raising money to support Birdport's Allington.

Aiden is on course to be a certified martial arts instructor and as part of his training he has to organise community projects.

He said: "My family spend so much time playing on Allington Hill, I thought it would be good to encourage more children to use this wonderful outdoor space."

His aim is to raise £200 to pay for a box of outdoor play equipment for families to borrow or if he can make it £500 it will fund children's activity days.

Catherine Harvey who heads theAllington Hillbillies said: "We were able to run children's activities days on the hill thanks to Lottery funding but that finished in March.

"They were very popular with youngsters enjoying woodland activities like making bird boxes led by Dan Ashby from Magdalen Farm.

"It is nice that we have inspired children and they still want to be involved in activities which was our main aim so it would be wonderful if Aiden raised enough to offer more days."

Aiden's mother Sharron Leader said her 14 year old son had been studying martial arts for five years and as part if his junior instructor training had decided to organise sponsored fun run and walk starting at 2pm from Coopers Field on Hospital Lane on June 4.

There are three courses to choose from - Aiden;s mini amble for children aged four and under, his adventure trail for children 12 and under and ths ultra Allington amble for anyone under 90.
