POLICE have issued a CCTV appeal after a man stole a large quantity of beauty products from a supermarket.

A man entered the Waitrose store on West Street in Bridport and stole a large quantity of high value toiletry products.

After entering the store, he took a trolley, placed a ‘bag for life’ in it and selected various items, including electronic products and cosmetics, from the health and beauty aisle. 

He then left the shop holding the bag full of goods, and made no attempt to pay for them.

The incident occurred shortly after 9.30am on Saturday, July 18, but police are only releasing the details now.

Officers investigating the offence have now released the image of the man they believe committed the offence and are urging members of the public to contact them if they witnessed the incident or have any information regarding it. 

Police Constable Alison Gale, of Bridport police, said: “I am keen to trace the man in this CCTV image.

“I am appealing to anyone who recognises him to please call me on 101.

“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
