LYME Regis Town Council has welcomed a new deputy town clerk.

Mark Green joins the council with a background in working with local authorities and in the private sector and replaces Mark Tredwin, who worked for the authority for two years.

Mr Green started his career in the 1980s with South Somerset District Council, working in a variety of roles before leaving to work for Taunton Deane Borough Council.

There he specialised in economic development, tourism and regeneration.

Mr Green said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the team at Lyme Regis.

“This is a very exciting time for Lyme Regis Town Council, with lots of opportunities to further improve the life of the town for residents, businesses and tourists.

“I look forward to working with the community in the coming years.”

In the private sector, Mr Green has worked in the field of project management and property development, and most recently he was a self-employed consultant on project management and commercial development.

Mr Green’s skills will be put to good use as he will be the officer for the planning and highways committee and the tourism and economic development committee.

Town clerk John Wright said: “We are happy to welcome Mark Green to the town council.

“He brings a wealth of skills and expertise to the town council, particularly in economic development, tourism and regeneration.”
