TWO people were injured in a crash involving two cars on the A35 near Bridport.

The accident, which took place shortly before 3pm, left the A35 in Long Bredy partially blocked and motorists faced slow traffic in both directions around the Long Bredy and Hut Lane junction.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We were called at 2.41pm to reports of a two vehicle collision.

“The two cars involved were a grey Citreon and a Toyota. Two people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

“Dorset Fire and Rescue Service also attended after initial reports of one person trapped in a vehicle but it was later established this was not the case and the service was not required.”

The South Western Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

The road was clear shortly after 4pm with traffic then returning to normal.
