MONEY will be raised for charity at a third annual concert held in memory of a man who died following a battle with cancer.

Paul Wicken died at the age of 36 in 2013, just days before the first event in aid of the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust took place.

Organisers are hoping to raise more money in memory of their former Ocean Bathrooms colleague at the third concert this weekend with 'A Song For Paul 3'.

Managing director Robert Muhl, said: "As you can imagine, it came as a high shock to me and to all of us at Ocean Bathrooms who worked with Paul over the years to learn that he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

"All of us at Ocean agreed we wanted to do something, so we launched A Song For Paul.

"Unfortunately, a few days before the first concert Paul died, but he had left instructions for us to carry on and raise money for the Weldmar Hospice Trust and Julia's House."

Mr Muhl is hoping to build on last year's success, which included a former colleague riding a static bike.

"Last year we did the same event again with a massive raffle and more cakes" he said.

"Adam Gale spent the day riding a static bike for the whole day, without getting off, even for a toilet break, and earned us a huge amount of money."

The concerts have raised more than £3,500 in the last two years.

The event will take place at Ocean Bathrooms on Saturday (27) from 10am until 4.30pm.

This year's line-up includes Shiraz, Fragments, Acoustic Rooster, Branded Men, Barn Street, Tinkers Cuss and Gertrude's Golden Gaelic Gherkins.

Other attractions include cake and savoury stalls, book and bric a brac stalls, a raffle and the chance to have your very own portrait.
