THE DEVELOPERS of a controversial housing development will display their proposals next week.

Hallam Land Management are giving residents the chance to see the plans for the Vearse Farm development site on Monday at  Bridport Town Hall.

Earlier this year, Bridport Town Council accused the developers of failing to consult with local residents - as requested from West Dorset District Council.

The initial plans will be on show, with proposals including up to 760 new homes, a new primary school, open space, a community use building, a public house and accommodation for elderly residents.

Andrew Birch, regional manager at Hallam Land Management said: “The proposals to be displayed at the exhibition provide an initial framework of how the site could be developed, which has also been shaped by initial technical studies.

“We want to hear from the local community before we submit a planning application and will be displaying our plans at the exhibition. Our project team will be at the exhibition to answer questions and listen to feedback.

"The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposals.”

The public exhibition will take place on Monday March 9, between 1pm and 7.30pm.
