A POPULAR holiday park will undergo a refurbishment after plans were unveiled for a major investment by Parkdean.

West Bay Holiday Park will receive part of £13.2m which will be invested by Parkdean across its 24 resorts - following an impressive start to the year.

Continuous improvement in Parkdean's resorts will see £6.8m investment in accommodation, including new holiday homes and lodges and a £1.7m investment into refurbishment of existing accommodation.

John Waterworth, chief executive at Parkdean Holidays said: "We had a very successful 2014 and this significant re-investment shows our confidence in our customer growth in 2015 and beyond.

"We are committed to providing the best holiday park accommodation in the UK market. Refurbishments and new caravan designs mean we can keep holiday-makers comfortable in a home-from-home environment plus we have noted a growing market for luxury lodge holidays and sales across the UK - the British staycation is a trend here to stay, whatever your budget."

Visitors to West Bay Holiday Park will also benefit from an upgraded wifi service to be installed later this year.

Seven new ranges of caravans will be unveiled for the 2015 season. All will be extra insulated with central heating and double glazing to provide comfort during the off peak season - to allow holidaymakers as much choice as possible to visit across the year.

The latest figures from visit-dorset.com show that Dorset is increasing in popularity as a holiday destination, as they have reported a 148 per cent increase in enquiries from the same period last year. Dorset was also listed in The Guardian's 40 holiday hotspots: where to go in 2015, alongside the likes of California, Cuba and Morocco.

The Holiday Park is just 200 metres from West Bay beach, and steps away from the iconic cliffs along the Jurassic Coast, which has provided the memorable landscape for ITV hit series Broadchurch.

Visitors to Parkdean's other Dorset resorts at Sandford and Warmwell can enjoy new stage shows this year and new children's activities. Children will be wowed when they take part in the new 'Totally Amazing' activities where they can learn with mad scientists - and they won't believe their eyes when characters from the new Epic Tales series will come to life.
