THREE young men who admitted a robbery at a Bridport post office have been warned they face prison sentences.

Jake Benjamin Tipping, aged 20, Jake Steven Hawkins, 19, and Joseph Hawkins, 21, all entered guilty pleas to the robbery at Bradpole Post Office on Tuesday, November 25 when they appeared at Dorchester Crown Court.

Richard Tutt, representing the three defendants, asked for the case to be adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.

He said: “They are all young and I ask that they have reports prepared upon them before they are sentenced.”

Judge Peter Johnson agreed to adjourn the case for the reports and the trio will return to court to be sentenced on January 9.

He told them: “You know you have admitted to a serious matter so anticipate custodial sentences when you come back.”

The three defendants, all of no fixed abode, were remanded in custody.
