BRIDPORT: People will be watching the skies light up above Bridport for the Round Table’s annual fireworks display on Saturday.

The fireworks display will be held at Bridport Leisure Centre.

This year, entertainment will include a merry-go-round, candy floss stall, plate smashing, barbecue and a hot chocolate stand.

A new act ‘Lizzie the fire breathing lizard’ will be walking around impressing the crowds.

Simon Wakely, of Bridport Round Table, said: “We have tried really hard this year to put on a good show for those who come in and enjoy the event, and we hope it will be well supported for the event’s sake and for those who put themselves out to help.

“It’s really important to us that the locals know that all the money we raise from the event goes back into good causes in the community, so please support us.

“I would like to thank the Bridport Leisure Centre for their hospitality and all who work hard to make the event happen.

“This event forms part of a role where we give a little back to the community. It is a costly event for us and very hard to work and bring all the entertainment and safety together for a good family evening out.”

Ticket prices have stayed the same as in previous years at £3 per adult and £2 per child, with a concession if you buy them early at Frosts or Toymaster in Bridport.

Those who would like to make a donation to the Bridport Round Table should send their donation to Simon Wakely, 91 East Street, Bridport.
