An aerial photography company is flying high after capturing these spectacular shots showing the town from a different perspective.

No Bounds Aerial Film and Photography is based in the Midlands and visited Lyme – known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ – last summer.

The company decided to make a return trip last month after the kind response from residents.

One image captured from the company’s recent aerial photography day is a photo of Lyme Regis harbour stitched together from more than 300 images – creating an accurate 3D model for land surveying data.

Other photos include a panoramic shot of the iconic Cobb together with a panoramic aerial tour of Lyme Regis, which can be found on the company’s Facebook page.

Company director and UAV pilot David Walters said: “Lyme is a small town with a huge heart. Having visited last year to help Geoff Baker with some coverage for Guitars on the Beach, the response from the locals was warm and generous.

“Harbourmaster Graham Forshaw and deputy harbourmaster Mike Higgs couldn’t have done more to welcome us.

“We obtained our commercial qualifications, completed our flight exams and received permission for aerial work from the CAA earlier this year.

“All of these are a requirement when taking aerial photos and videos for commercial purposes using small unmanned aerial vehicles.

“We awaited permissions from the town council to operate and they kindly agreed – we then spent a day taking photos in the town.

“As always reception was great, and given the conditions on the day we captured some stunning material. I hope this boosts the profile of Lyme. My project plan is to do the entire Jurassic coast and get all of the councils on board to help promote this beautiful coastline.”
