A restaurant in the town is inviting the community to help make its annual fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust the best one yet.

The Olive Tree restaurant in East Street will be putting on brunch using locally sourced in-gredients on October 3, from 10am until noon.

The profits will go towards the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (CFT). Last year’s event raised a total of £1,300 with the help of the Bridport community.

There will be an auction where customers can bid on the Olive Tree’s chef and staff coming to their home and creating a three-course meal for up to six people.

Another prize available at the auction is a cookery club session at the restaurant.

Penelope Frigon from the Olive Tree said: “Every year we raise money for the CFT because a member of the family suffers with the life-threatening disease.

“We therefore want to do as much as we can to raise money for the worthwhile cause, which supports those affected by the disease and undertakes research to find a cure.

“Any donations for the raffle or towards the cause would be brilliant, last year we were overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of the community.

“We’re hoping to have a successful fundraiser this year, and every penny will go to the trust so if you think you can help please let us here at the Olive Tree know.

“Any donations can also be brought to the restaurant. We want to say a massive thank you for the support we have had in the past because without that we wouldn’t be able to do so well.

“Colin Crabb at Vertiworks is responsible for all our wonderful printed promotional material which he does for us every year, so we’d also like to say a big thank you to him.”

Tickets for the brunch event are available direct from the Olive Tree at a cost of £10. Raffle tickets can also be bought by popping into the restaurant.
