A doctor of philosophy from Whitchurch Canonicorum has been acquitted of an alleged fraud offence.
Anthony Stephen Farmer, aged 66, had entered a not guilty plea to dishonestly failing to disclose information to the Department for Work and Pensions between June 10, 2011, and January 14, 2013.
The matter went to trial at Dorchester Crown Court.
However, after the conclusion of the prosecution case Judge Douglas Farmer directed the jury to enter a not guilty verdict in relation to the charge.
