Bridport school closes after security glitch

PUPILS at a Bridport school had an unexpected day off today, Monday October 22, when staff arrived for work and discovered they were locked out.

The lock and alarm system at St Catherine's RC Primary School in Pymore Road failed and faced with a possible delay of three hours before the problem could be solved, the decision was taken to close to pupils for the day.

Head teacher Frances Guppy said that all parents had been contacted.

“It was very unfortunate. We had staff sitting on the doorstep from 7.30am.

The staff stayed at school to work after the doors were opened,” she said.
