Learn happy folk dancing

THE Happy Folk Country Dancing Group is looking to recruit more members.

Group spokesman Shirley Ford said they would like to have between 16 and 20.

The Happy Folk are a traditional country dancing group who meet in the James Hargreaves hall in Morcombelake on the second and fourth Fridays every month, from 2.30pm-4pm.

The sessions cost £1.50, including refreshments.

Ms Ford said: “It is good value for an entertaining, laughter-packed, fun-filled afternoon, learning the many different dances with our caller, who has the patience of a saint.

“We are looking for enthusiastic new members, both men and women of any age.

“It doesn’t matter if you have never danced before, but it would be an advantage if you know your left from your right as many of us regulars still get very confused!

“Just turn up on the day, you will receive a very warm welcome.”

The next meeting is on Friday, October 12.
