BELL ringers in West Dorset joined in the national chimes to herald the start of the Olympics.

They included groups at St Mary’s in Burton Bradstock and eight members of the Bradpole team at Holy Trinity Church.

They rang at 8.12am on Friday, July 27 to join in with the ringing of bells nationwide to celebrate the opening of the Olympic Games. The Rev Janis Moore, ringers, spouses and church members gathered after the Bradpole ringing in the churchyard for breakfast and a toast to the Olympics.
