Tanker driver seriously injured in A35 crash

A MAN has been seriously injured after a tanker overturned near Charmouth.
The heavy goods vehicle crashed at the A35 roundabout on the Charmouth bypass at around midnight last night.
Between 3000 and 5000 litres of tar leaked over the road.
Dorset Police and Fire Rescue teams helped get the driver out of the tanker before he was taken to Dorset County Hospital.
The Local Authority also attended the scene and the road remained closed for several hours.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Dorset Police are investigating into the matter and are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101.
