SINGER songwriter Mitch Norman has recorded a retrospective CD tracing his repertoire over the past two decades.
The Bridport-based musician has released The Thin Line Factor – Springtime and Other Early Songs under the moniker of Mitch Norman and Friends.
It features tracks written and recorded by Mitch with fellow musicians and bandmates as well as a handful of cover versions and songs written as collaborations.
Mitch, who lives in St Andrew’s Road, said: “It is a retrospective collection of songs and tunes produced over the last 20 years or so.
“It was originally released as a cassette album in 1998. It is mostly home-recordings done on a Tascam Portastudio.
“Also included is material I had forgotten about and discovered in a cardboard box in my garage.”
Musicians and collaborators include Abbie Lathe, Jenny Billett, Kate Garrett, Kate Schreiber, Jacqueline Archer, Mike Smith, Martine Hardy, Iain Aird, Nicky Wyke, Becki Driscoll and Fin Gunn.
Mr Aird transferred some of the tracks from tape to CD while other more recent songs were recorded by Nick Wyke at his studio in north Devon.
Mitch added: “Many thanks to my fine musical friends whose contributions resulted in this compilation CD.”
The 22-track CD includes such songs as Springtime, One Single Wish, Leave a Light on for Me, Tumbling Towers and The Thin Line Factor. It is £10, available from Bridport Music shop in South Street.
