CHEERS! Staff at a pub are celebrating after being named as best in the country.

The Bull Hotel, which is home to the original Stable cider and pizza restaurant, has been named winner of the best hotel/inn category in the

Griffin Trophy, the annual awards run by London-based brewer and pub company Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC.

General manager of the Bull Sian Thompson thanked her ‘incredible’ team after the win.

The Griffin Trophy awards recognise the efforts and achievements of the Company’s top managers and tenants in four categories, Best City/London Pub, Best Hotel/Inn, Best Town/Local Pub and Best Country/Village Pub.

Following an extensive selection process, the final nine contenders of The Griffin Trophy were all visited by Chairman, Michael Turner, Chief Executive, Simon Emeny, and Corporate Affairs Director, Richard Fuller, and a winner was chosen.

The result was announced at a ceremony held in the Board Room at the company’s world-famous Griffin Brewery in Chiswick on Thursday, November 9.

Presenting the award to Sian, Mr Turner said: “The Bull Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of the bustling market town of Bridport

“Boasting 19 individually furnished bedrooms, finished with the highest standard of chic and style, together with fresh, home-made delicious food created by head chef George Marsh, a stay at The Bull Hotel is a fantastic experience.

“I’m delighted to be handing Sian this very well-deserved award.

“The Bull Hotel is also home to the original Stable pizza and cider restaurant serving delicious pizzas with a hand-picked selection of ciders made both locally and further afield.

“It is wonderful to see how this business has evolved since it joined the Fuller’s family in 2014 and its refurbishment in 2016.

Sian and her team are brilliant hosts and uphold the very best standards, meaning their customers have come to expect – and receive – the finest experience when they visit.”

Sian added: “We’ve had a great year here at The Bull Hotel and this award really puts the icing on the cake.

“We always aim to make sure our customers have a fantastic time whether they join us for a night’s stay, a family meal or just a quick drink and I hope we’ve succeeded.

“I have an incredible team here and the recognition from Fuller’s is down to them.”

The prize for winning the category is a £2,000 holiday, a staff party and an engraved plaque for the pub.
