THIS is the fifth year Lyme Regis is going for the UK world record for the most guitarists playing together simultaneously.

If you want to be part of making history be on the beach on Saturday (June 17) at 5pm.

A huge band of guitarists from all over Britain will be led on the record attempt by Mungo Jerry star Ray Dorset as they all perform his 1970 No 1 hit In The Summer Time.

The Guitars On The Beach event is bidding to take the world record from the Poles, who mustered 7,356 guitarists to perform Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe in Wroclaw last month.

This will be the 5th year running that the Lyme event has attempted the world record. It won the UK record in 2014 when Deep Purple's Ian Gillan led 3,000 guitarists playing his band's hit song Smoke On The Water.
