CANDIDATES have been announced for next month’s Dorset County Council elections.
Seats will be contested in the wards of Bridport, Beaminster and Marshwood Vale, as well as areas across the county.
In Bridport, two places on the county council are up for grabs. Kelvin Clayton and Robert Casey are standing for the Green Party, Phyllida Culpin and Bill Mellish are contesting the election for Labour, Keith Day and Mark Roberts will represent the Conservatives and Ros Kayes and Sarah Horniman will stand for the Liberal Democrats.
In Beaminster, Peter Allen will stand for the Liberal Democrats, Mark Gage will represent Labour, Neil Judd is running for the Green Party and Rebecca Knox is standing for the Conservatives.
In the Marshwood Vale ward, which includes Lyme Regis and Charmouth, Chit Chong will stand for the Green Party, Joy Everington will represent Labour, Steve Trevethan will contest the poll for the Liberal Democrats and Daryl Turner will defend his seat for the Conservatives.
The election will take place on Thursday, May 4.
