A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after colliding with a car in Bridport.
Emergency services were called to St Andrew's Road this morning and and a road closure was put in place on the A3066 from Bridport to Beaminster.
The crash took place outside Lidl in the roadworks area. The road has now reopened to traffic.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called by the ambulance service to a collision involving a car and a cyclist at 8.34am.
"It took place somewhere in the middle of some roadworks. There was a lot of traffic built up while the incident is being dealt with.
"A road closure was put in place up to Beaminster. A cyclist was treated for a slight injury. The road was reopened at 9.14am."
A spokeswoman from South Western Ambulance Service Trust, said: "We were called at 8.25am to St Andrew's Road in Bridport to an RTC involving a car and a bike.
"One casualty, a 34-year-old man with a shoulder injury was taken to Dorset County Hospital for further treatment."
