BEAMINSTER'S newly resurrected youth club opened last week with more than 50 young people from Beaminster.

There are sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings for juniors and seniors and they are welcoming new members.

There is a varied programme of activities planned for the current half term. This week all the club members will be making their own pizzas and the week of September 21.

The clubs are always open to new ideas and welcome suggestions from anyone.

The Pop Club will continue to meet on Tuesday nights at 6pm and is open to everyone with a passion for music and singing. New members aged 10 and over will be very welcome.

This is a free club supported by ongoing grants.

Whenever the club is open the coffee bar is always popular, selling, a range of snacks and drinks.

All this is only possible because of a dedicated team of volunteers led by Paula Buxton and Henrietta Collins, who have come forward and put in many hours of preparation following the closure of the county council run youth club.
