A WOMAN has been cut free from a crash by firefighters.

The A356 Dorchester Road was closed in both directions in Frampton this morning after a crash.

Initial reports from a home owner in the area said that a car had smashed into a vacant vehicle and flipped onto its roof.

A woman was trapped in the the car, a Vauxhall Agila, though it was reported that she was conscious and breathing.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "The collision was reported to us at 9.53am.

"The fire brigad were already on scene as we arrived and were making attempts to cut the person out of the car.

"Ambulance have also been requested.

"There was no indication of whether the woman was the driver of the vehicle.

"Her injuries have been reported as only minor."

The accident took place at the junction with the A37 Long Ash Lane.
