TOP British pop group and legends from the 60s, The Searchers, are bringing a touch of nostalgia as they perform at Bridport Electric Palace this weekend.

Second only to the Beatles as Liverpool’s finest 60s group, the band’s biggest hits include a remake of the Drifters’ 1961 hit, Sweets for My Sweet and remakes of Jackie DeShannon’s Needles and Pins and When You Walk In The Room.

With over 50 million record sales, The Searchers appeal to everyone, and the night promises to be one to remember at Bridport Electric Palace on Saturday, August 6 at 7.30pm.

The Searchers are one of the few British pop groups who have maintained their position at the top for well over 45 years.

The show will include an original song written for them, Sugar and Spice, a cover of the Orlon’s Don’t Throw Your Love Away and a cover of The Clovers’ Love Potion No. 9.

The band continues to tour the globe just as much as it did 50 years ago as the four men prove they’ve still got what it takes to be in the business.

Original member and founder John McNally performs lead guitar and vocals alongside bass guitarist and vocalist Frank Allen.

Front man and guitar synth Spencer James and Scott Ottaway on drum and vocals complete the line-up.

The band are coming fresh from a well-deserved two-week summer break in July and are ready to hit the road running once again for another 12 month stint of shows.

The show is complete with anecdotes, a look back to the past, and songs taken from all the band’s albums.
