THE National Trust team at West Dorset, in conjunction with Stuart Line Cruises, is offering the chance to see the Jurassic Coast from a different perspective on a boat trip on Wednesday (1 June).

The cruise will head east from Lyme Regis towards West Bay in the morning in a circular trip lasting tow and a half hours.

In the afternoon, the trip heads west along the coast towards Beer Head. On board there will be detailed commentary from geologist, Richard Edmonds and National Trust coast adviser, Tony Flux.

Mr Edmonds said: "The boat trip will explore millions of years of geological time locked up in the cliffs of the West Dorset and the East Devon coast. The view from the sea is one of the best ways to marvel at the huge landslides that make up this part of our coast. It is also a great way to see the rare wildlife habitats that are created by the ever present forces of erosion."

West Dorset NT ranger Sarah Kennedy said: "It’s great to be working with Stuart Line Cruises again following the success of last year's trips. This is the only date available to organise this year so book up now. Don’t forget to bring a camera and binoculars along too."

Tickets for each trip are £15 per person.
