FIREFIGHTERS were called to a chimney fire in a Broadwindsor home.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said they received a call at around 7:50pm on Sunday from a resident reporting a fire in the chimney of her home.
Retained firefighters from Beaminster responded to the blaze in Redlands Lane, Broadwindsor, and arrived on scene within 5 minutes, where the chimney was alight.
Crews got to work from the hearth with a chimney kit and kept a close eye on surrounding thatch properties to ensure the fire didn't spread.
A thermal imaging camera was used in the roof space of the affected property to check that the fire was confined to the chimney.
The stop message was received at 8:26pm, but crews remained on scene until 8.50pm monitoring the temperatures within the chimney.
