HUNDREDS of Bridport residents were affected by a power cut this morning.
Western Power Distribution said the power cut affected 799 customers in the DT6 area at around 9am this morning.
A spokesman said the power was fully restored just after 10am, and the cut was caused by a fault with an underground cable.
They said: "The cut was caused by an underground cable fault but we can't say for certain what the exact cause was.
"Our top priority was getting customers back on supply. We will locate the fault and excavate in order to repair it."
Earlier in the day, WPD had tweeted:

Travel Dorset also reported that traffic lights in Bridport were also switching on and off as a result of the cut, tweeting:
Due to reported local network power issues in the Bridport area, some traffic lights are going on and off.
